2019 DATES

 4th October 9am – 9pm

5th, 6th and 7th October 9am – 6pm

This year the house and the artists have seen a bit of a change – lots of new parking makes access much easier as well as a new garden area and some redecoration as my boys grow up and move bedrooms!  Many new artists join those you have grown to love and Meriel Ensom rejoins after a year away.  I will look forward to seeing you in October.

About Sarah Sclater

Sarah’s love of art began when she studied History of Art for A Level going on to study History of Art and Architecture at Reading University.

Throughout her diverse working life – starting out in marketing and then moving into sales and management she has always harboured her interest in art, visiting galleries whenever she can and beginning her own modest collection. She particularly loves the work of the New English Art Club.

During many hours spent in galleries she noticed how many people commented on how much they liked the art they were looking at but couldn’t imagine the pieces hanging in their own rooms. This gave her the idea of exhibiting art in her own home.

Having been brought up in West Dorset and returning there in her early 30’s Sarah had made many contacts and friends within the vibrant artistic community and was delighted at the support so many gave her ideas.

In October 2013 the first Art at Home exhibition was held at Thrae. Now an annual five day event, this is the backbone of her business.

She is very happy to discuss possible purchases throughout the year as well as giving advice on how to get the best out of your existing and new purchases by the hanging and display of your works.
